Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Transit were left with an usual mishap on their hands Friday after a car plowed into a concrete hotel sign. Police were notified of the single vehicle accident Friday morning at Live Aqua hotel on the main stretch of Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
According to available information, the accident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. when the speeding driver crashed into the hotel sign. The impact pushed the front of the car completely through the concrete sign. A small area of the hotel’s entrance was also damaged as was a flowerbed.
The exact reason for the crash remains unknown, however, speed and wet roads while taking a sharp corner are being blamed.
The vehicle, a gray Kia, was towed to a corral. There were no injuries reported, however, there was considerable damage to the car and hotel sign.
