Cancun, Q.R. — An early morning accident Monday resulted in the driver of a van being hospitalized. The driver, 38-year-old Julio N, was taken to hospital with injuries that included a broken leg after he crashed into the center median.
Other motorists traveling the route reported the incident to police who arrived to find a downed palm tree and damaged city pole. Municipal Transit Police were on scene to assess damage while they waited for a tow truck to remove the vehicle from the center of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard.
According to preliminary information, speed was a factor in the accident.
