Speed and wet roads blamed for several Cancun accidents

Cancun, Q.R. — Speed and wet roads have been blamed for more than a dozen inner city road accidents in the past few days. Emergency bodies in Cancun continue to respond to accidents that have resulted in at least two vehicles landing on their roofs.

On Tuesday, a 65-year-old driver slammed into the base of a metal light pole before toppling his car onto its roof. The accident was only one of several reported along Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone.

While the driver was lucky enough to walk away, the car received a significant amount of damage. City officials were also on scene evaluating damage to city property.
