Cancun, Q.R. — The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) has begun the process of connecting the Cancun airport and Maya Train station.
Earlier this month, the Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (SICT) submitted the Environmental Impact Statement (MIA) for the change in land use in between the two destinations.
If approved, the Cancun International Airport would be successfully connected to the Maya Train station.
On June 6, the agency presented the project for the connection road to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) to obtain the Manifestación de Impacto Ambiental (MIA) required for the infrastructure project.
As detailed in the Ecological Gazette recently published by Semarnat, the project involves site preparation, construction, operation and maintenance of the expansion of the four kilometer the road that will connect the Cancun airport with the Maya Train.
