Cancun, Q.R. — Two vehicles were burned beyond saving after an alleged short circuit in one caught both on fire in a residential subdivision of Cancun.
Flames were seen by neighbors around 2:00 a.m. and reported to emergency personnel who arrived to find a mass of fire consuming an old-model SUV and a private transport bus. The fire happened in SM 247 in the Villas Otoch subdivision of Cancun Tuesday.
Municipal police, along with personnel from the Fire Brigade of Benito Juárez, rushed to extinguish the flames. It took two hours for firemen to get both blazes under control.
Although there were no reports of injuries, three other nearby vehicles were damaged from the heat and flames of the two burning vehicles.
Elements of the Quintana Roo Police and personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office will investigate.
