Cancun, Q.R. — Several people were taken to Cancun hospital Wednesday from the scene of a two vehicle collision. Cancun firemen assisted in the accident between a bus and cement truck.
The two large vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon on a section of highway west of the city of Cancun. Transit police were called to the scene to investigate who was responsible for the two vehicle crash that left traffic severely tied up.
In a brief note, the Cancun Fire Department commented on the Wednesday afternoon incident.
“Attention to a vehicle accident on the Cancun-Merida highway. Personnel from the Cancun Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident on the Cancun-Merida highway involving two large vehicles.

“At the scene, firefighters provided support with safety measures and pre-hospital care to several injured individuals in coordination with medical services, who transported them to a hospital for evaluation and appropriate treatment.
“They also worked jointly with traffic, security and Civil Protection authorities in Cancún to control the area and prevent further risks.
“We urge the public to drive with caution, respect speed limits, and remain attentive at all times to prevent accidents. To Serve and Protect!”
