Cancun, Q.R. — A man was transferred to hospital after the motorcycle in which he was riding was struck by an industrial semi unit.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on the highway near the exit to Mérida. The heavy Freighliner crushed the front of an Italika motorcycle that was being driven by a 31-year-old man. The man, who received some injuries, was taken to hospital.
Police say the driver of the motorcycle was 31-year-old Wilkenman L.L., originally from Guatemala and a resident of the irregular neighborhood of El Milagro outside the city of Cancun. The driver of the heavy unit was arrested.
