Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a double-long semi attempting to take a city corner ended up taking out city lights instead. Cancun Transit were sent to the intersection of Andrés Quintana Roo and Comalcalco Avenues after the unit collapsed city poles.
At the scene, police found the semi had collapsed a Cancun smart traffic light that landed on street signs that were also found felled.
Witnesses to the Monday morning accident reported the driver failing to take precautions which caused him to lose control and end up on the central median where Cancun city poles met their fate.
There were no injures reported. The busy Cancun road was closed while the double-long unit was removed. The driver was detained while city damages were determined.
