Cancun, Q.R. — The medical examiner was called to a Cancun beach Friday after the discovery of human remains. A human head was found on a beach in north Cancun by local fishermen Friday afternoon.
Municipal and federal ministerial police were at the Puerto Sam scene in response to the finding. A report was made that the head had been found in sand near Casa Arena at the end of the Puerto Juarez highway.
Municipal police cordoned off the area while they waited for FGE personnel to arrive to remove the head. A search operation was deployed for other remains including the rest of the body. Police have not reported any further discoveries.
