Cancun, Q.R. — Municipal police continue their search for a car that killed a Cancun pedestrian in a fatal hit and run. The man, identified as a local scrap collector, was left for dead on 113th Street in Region 94 after being hit.
Alarmed neighbors made the report to emergency services early Tuesday morning after seeing the man hit. He was pushing a shopping cart while scavenging when he was struck by the vehicle.
According to witnesses, the victim, a man between 40 and 45 years old, was collecting material when he was hit near his shopping cart. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police continue their search for the vehicle and driver responsible.
