Cancun, Q.R. — A man has been arrested after stealing a Playa del Carmen taxi. The 34-year-old male was taken into police custody after a highway chase between Playa del Carmen and Cancun ended in the city.
Police began to chase the car along the Federal highway when they learned that moments before, it had been reported as stolen. The stolen car was a PDC taxi. Behind the wheel of the stolen car was 34-year-old Boukort “N” from Saudi Arabia.
He was seen entering the municipality of Benito Juarez (the city of Cancun) at the police filter, where he refused to stop. He was eventually intercepted and arrested along Colosio Boulevard.
A police search did not reveal any illegal substances or objects. He has been charged with vehicle theft.
