Cancun, Q.R. — An alleged assailant died after running into high voltage power lines in Cancun Thursday. The man was reported to 911 for being armed and assaulting a resident in SM 105.
While enroute, emergency services received two additional reports regarding the same suspect. A second report about a captured thief was made by residents who said they caught him while jumping across their rooftops.
As police were arriving, they received a third report that the held suspect had attempted to escape his captors by hopping onto another roof where he was met by a set of high voltage power lines.
Police found the man laying on the top of a house unconsciousness with severe burns. By the time paramedics arrived, the man had died. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
