Cancun, Q.R. — A late night roaring blaze completely devoured a Cancun company bus over the weekend. Firefighters from Isla Mujeres helped Cancun firemen put out a roaring bus fire Saturday.
Authorities were notified of the burning bus late Saturday night in an area near the municipal borders.
Due to the size of the blaze, firemen from the neighboring municipality of Isla Mujeres assisted. Two fire fighting units responded to reports of the burning bus that caught fire while traveling a public roadway.
In a briefing, the Cancun Fire Department said “Members of the Cancun Fire Department promptly responded to a report of a bus fire. The company bus was completely devoured by the fire.
“Upon arrival, personnel located the vehicle and immediately began control and cooling operations, working to eliminate hazards and secure the area.
“No injuries were reported.
“The operation was carried out in coordination with security and traffic authorities, as well as firefighters from the mainland area of Isla Mujeres, combining efforts for an effective response.
“We continue working with commitment to protect the lives and safety of the public, and we appreciate the inter-institutional collaboration.”
Authorities did not provide an official cause for the fire.
