Cancun, Q.R. — Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) has announced vaccination dates for teachers around several states of the country. The announced dates include the state of Quintana Roo teachers. AMLO says that together with health officials, his government anticipates teachers will begin the vaccine program April 20, vaccinating at least five states per week.
The Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, says that the CanSino vaccine will be administered to Mexico’s teachers. He detailed that during the week of April 20 to 27, teachers in Chiapas, Coahuila, Nayarit, Veracruz and Tamaulipas will be vaccinated.
Teachers in the state of Quintana Roo will be vaccinated from May 19 to 28, as will teachers in Puebla, Queretaro, Yucatan, Mexico City, Chihuahua and Baja California Sur .
Both AMLO and the undersecretary detailed that there are three million doses of CanSino earmarked for the country’s teachers. López-Gatell also said that they are continuing to analyze the possibility of children returning to classes under a yellow epidemiological light, adding that they are looking at how other countries have restarted classes and analyzing those steps of progress.
