Cancun, Q.R. — Residents in region 259 of the city found themselves without electricity Wednesday. The entire area was left without power after a passing truck snagged a set of overhead lines.
The driver of a city garbage truck on Bugambilias Avenue snagged the lines as he passed through the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision. The incident happened Wednesday night.
A piece of the top of the garbage truck became entangled with a set of low lying power lines which resulted in the toppling of a pole. Power was cut while CFE personnel made the repairs.
City authorities were on site to assess the damage and determine the responsibility of the driver.
