Resident treated for broken leg after jumping from burning Cancun apartment

Cancun, Q.R. — Paramedics treated a man for a broken leg after he jumped from his burning apartment Friday. Cancun firemen responding to the reports of the apartment fire in SM 260 arrived to a burning suite.

The man inside is reported to have attempted to jump from his third floor unit where he lived to another to escape his burning home. In doing so, he fell.

While firemen put out the fire on Kitinche Street, paramedics stabalized the man for a hospital transfer for a broken leg.

The fire happened Friday afternoon on the third floor of an apartment building in the Prado Norte subdivision of Cancun. It is not known what caused the fire.
