Repaving, absorption wells being installed along Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone

Cancun, Q.R. — The National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur) has began the installation of more than 130 absorption wells in the Cancun Hotel Zone. Raúl Bermúdez of Fonatur explained that the project corresponds to their annual maintenance program for the Cancun Hotel Zone.

He says the work for the installation of the wells began on June 1, and should be complete sometime in August, adding that the cost to the agency is around 1.8 million peso. He also noted that the repaving of the 13.5 kilometre stretch of Kukulcán Boulevard is approximately 70 percent complete.

The repaving, he says, is a Fonatur investment of 50 million peso, which will include state-of-the-art reflective signs and pallets in both lanes. He pointed out that the contract for repaving concludes October 7.
