Prosecutors lay charges against man who threw two dogs from Cancun apartment building

Cancun, Q.R. — Prosecutors were successful in having charges laid against a Cancun man for animal abuse. On Friday, Isaí Daniel “N” was charged after allegedly throwing two dogs off the fourth floor of an apartment building.

According to police, Isaí Daniel “N” broke into the apartment on April 19 and threw the dogs over the balcony. One died. The other was seriously injured. In a statement, police said “Isaí Daniel “N” is being investigated for events that occurred on April 19 of this year when he broke into a home, proceeding to throw two dogs from a fourth floor.

“As a result of this action, one of the dogs died after hitting the ground, while the other was seriously injured, which qualifies as acts of abuse and cruelty against living beings.”

A Cancun judge has ordered Isaí Daniel “N” to remain in pretrial detention for a term of six months or the duration of the judicial proceedings. Police did not say if he knew the owner of the dogs or why he threw them over the balcony of the fourth floor.
