Cancun, Q.R. — Four people have been arrested for the robbery of an empty safe and 40,000 pesos from a religious compound. One of the detained worked as a private security guard inside the compound.
William Ernesto “N”, Miguel Ángel “N”, Carlos Mario “N” and Hasel Saraí “N” were arrested for the July 15 robbery of piggy banks that contained a total of 40,000 pesos. According to the State Attorney General (FGE), Hasel Saraí “N” worked as a private security guard inside the establishment.
In their statement, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) said “they are accused of their alleged involvement in the theft of 40,000 pesos contained in six piggy banks.
“Initial investigations indicate that Hasel Saraí “N”, the girlfriend of William Ernesto “N”, worked as a private security guard at the temple, so she knew the place well and allegedly served as a guide to commit the theft.
“The events occurred in the early hours of July 15. William Ernesto “N” hired a taxi driver identified as Miguel Ángel “N”, supposedly to provide him with a service, for which he allegedly paid the amount of 5,000 pesos.
“By telephone, Hazel Saraí “N” gave instructions to William Ernesto “N”, who in turn communicated with Carlos Mario “N” and another person to locate the safe, which they stole without knowing that it was empty. They also stole 40,000 pesos contained in piggy banks placed at various points in the religious compound.”
All four could face up to 18 years in prison.
