Cancun, Q.R. — A man taken into custody for drug possession is now being investigated for murder. Cancun authorities say Manuel Eduardo “N” is likely facing homicide charges after being arrested over the weekend.
He was picked up by police along with José Luis “N” from Cancun streets after being found with pot. According to police, Manuel Eduardo “N” is believed responsible for the November 2 killing of a Cancun man.
“Initial investigations link Manuel Eduardo “N” to the qualified homicide of a male, which occurred on November 2 of this year in the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision, when the suspect, along with four others, arrived at the victim’s home.
“From there, they asked for money but when he refused, they allegedly robbed him of his wallet and phone, physically assaulted him, and after chasing him, one of these individuals shot him.
“Relatives took the injured man to the hospital where he lost his life,” they said.
Manuel Eduardo “N” is also believed involved in another incident where a male victim was injured by a firearm on October 4 of this year in SM 259 of the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision of Cancun.
“On that occasion, the detainee, along with another individual, carrying firearms, approached the victim whom they hit in the head and shot in the body. He was transferred to the hospital for medical attention.”
Both Manuel Eduardo “N” and José Luis “N” remain in custody.
