Cancun, Q.R. — A taxi was towed away by Cancun police Tuesday after being located in a private parking stall. The car was kept as evidence after it was believed involved in a shooting the night before.
On Monday night, a man was shot and killed in SM 248. The deadly shooting was captured on city surveillance cameras, the same cameras that helped police locate the car the following day.
The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. Monday in Villas del Mar. The victim’s 34-year-old wife called police and later detailed that someone from inside the taxi shot her husband before fleeing.
Cancun police scoured the area, locating the parked taxi the next morning in SM 259.
