Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun beachgoers at Playa Langosta were overwhelmed with the sudden arrival of police after they responded to the report of armed men on jet skies.
The report was made to Emergency 911 just before 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Several police units arrived at Playa Langosta pier at Kilometer 4 of the Cancun Hotel Zone to verify the report.
According to witness testimonies, the armed men arrived at the beach on jet skies. They got off and began walking the beach in search of someone. When they were unable to find who they were looking for, they left, which is when emergency services were notified.
People from the beach who saw the men were able to provide police with a description. Police did search for the men, but were not able to locate them. A tight security force was set up around the area for the remainder of the day.
