Cancun, Q.R. — Police are investigating the death of a man and woman in an apparent murder suicide. The couple were discovered Wednesday morning dead in their home by their four year old daughter.
The girl’s uncle found the child crying in the street and returned to the house to find two of his family members dead. The girl’s mother was found with multiple stab wounds. The girl’s father was found suspended by a rope near his wife.
Medical personnel confirmed both had died approximately one hour before being found. The incident happened in the El Milagro residential area of Cancun. The girl’s uncle, identified as 58 year old Ricardo “N”, called 9-1-1 for help.
The call was received around 10:45 a.m. Police arrived at the address provided along 21 Street, confirming the discovery of two bodies. Paramedics pronounced 40 year old Maricela “N” and 36 year old Miguel Ángel “N” dead at the scene.
According to preliminary information, Maricela “N” died from multiple stab wounds, while Miguel Ángel “N” died of asphyxiation. The incident is being investigated as a possible murder suicide.
