Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police were at the scene of a drowning Tuesday night in a residential complex. They were called to a residential tower in SM 320 when a man reportedly drowned while using the residential pool.
The man, identified only as a Costa Rican around the age of 30, was eating and drinking poolside with his family Tuesday evening. The young man entered the pool, allegedly intoxicated, and quickly began to have problems.
Other residents at the pool at the time pulled him from the water, but he died on the concrete.
Police were at the scene of the drowning in response to a report to emergency services. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
