Cancun, Q.R. — Access to enter the Cancun Hotel Zone is being controlled by elements of the Tourist Police who are only allowing access to workers, guests and residents. The restrictions are part of a new move to stop the masses from going to the beach and thus, prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The operation was put into place around mid-day. Police were set up at Kilometer 1 where they stop vehicles, denying access to those who had arrived to spend the day at the beach. Police were inviting potential beachgoers to return home, reminding them that all beaches are currently closed.
