Cancun, Q.R. — A young motorcyclist was shot to death early Monday morning after being the target of area hitmen. According to neighbor witnesses, the attack happened one block from where the victim lived.
He was found by police laying under his bike after being shot while driving his motorcycle. Residents in SM 101 reported the sound of gun shots to emergency services. They also reported seeing a motorcycle driver laying in the middle of the residential street.
Municipal police responded to the report of gunfire and requested an ambulance at the scene. Red Cross paramedics confirmed the young man was dead after being shot twice.
Neighbors reportedly knew the victim and were able to provide his name to police. His mother identified the body. Neighbors said they saw a second motorcycle pull up along side the young driver from where one of them shot him before fleeing. A motive for the attack is not known.
