Police arrest man wanted in Cancun femicide

Cancun, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo has reported the arrest of a man in the stabbing death of a female in a Cancun home in October.

La Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) says that Ministerial Police carried out an arrest warrant against Moisés N for the crime of Femicide. He was captured at kilometer 309 of the Cancun-Mérida highway.

Authorities say the events that are imputed against him occurred on October 6, inside a house located on Tauch Street in SM 25 of Cancun where the accused, after having an argument with the now-deceased woman, attacked her with a knife, stabbing her several times causing injuries that lead to her death.

The victim was originally from Peru. Ministerial Police say the accused male has already been made available to judicial authorities for the crime of Femicide.
