Cancun, Q.R. — Two men were arrested after one was found armed and the other carrying a human head. The pair were apprehended by Cancun Police from a motorcycle after a chase through city streets.
Once stopped, an inspection revealed a loaded .45 caliber gun and a backpack carried by the second man with a human head inside. The pair were arrested by police who reported they were found carrying the “head of a decapitated person with narco-messages in Region 102 in Cancun.”
The driver of the motorcycle was requested to stop after officers saw, what they believed, was a gun protruding from his clothing. Upon seeing police, “the driver accelerated the speed of the motorcycle.”
Cancun police requested the assistance of additional officers who were able to intercept the motorcycle and detain the two on board on West 42nd Street. The detainees have been identified as Arnulfo “N” and Julián “N”.
Agents from the Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo arrived to process the scene and collect evidence. The head, which has been reported to be that of a woman between 35 and 40, was transferred to the Semefo Forensic Medical Service.
Early Tuesday, neighbors in the Cielo Nuevo subdivision of Cancun reported finding a body in a green area. The body was without a head. The two men arrested are believed members of the Cártel del Noreste and responsible for the murder.
Police were able to locate the place where the person was killed and beheaded. They tracked the murder to a building in SM 249 of Cancun.
