Cancun, Q.R. — No injuries were reported in the Playa del Carmen taxi accident that took place along Avenida Bonampak in Cancun.
Police reported that the driver of the Playa del Carmen taxi left the scene of the accident after the 11:00 p.m. crash that happened near Malecon Tajamar. In the area, traffic experts found an empty Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union taxi from Playa del Carmen.
In the traffic assessment, police indicated that the driver lost control and made contact with a guidewire and adjacent concrete pole, of which was knocked over.
Police did not mention the cost of damage to city property, only that the driver fled the scene. The taxi unit was heavily damaged in the mishap.
