Passenger hospitalized after Cancun driver flips car

Cancun, Q.R. — The female passenger of a car that rolled in Cancun was taken to hospital. The 45-year-old male driver managed to land his car on its side in SM 237 around midnight. Speed is believed a factor in the mishap.

The car flipped onto its side after sideswiping another vehicle on Periférico Avenue. The driver’s front tire made contact with the center median at a high rate of speed, causing him to lose control.

He veered into the car beside him and flipped his own vehicle. Both cars were left with considerable damage. Paramedics transferred a female passenger from the flipped car to hospital. Passengers in the second vehicle were not injured.

Late night traffic was backed up while Cancun Transit cleared the roadway.
