Cancun, Q.R. — Due to the pandemic, the construction of the Control, Command, Communication, Computing and Quality Center (C5) will be delayed for a couple of months, said Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez, head of the office of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP). He stressed that they expect it to be February when operations are likely to begin.
Although he said the progress is close to 90 percent, he acknowledged that they had hoped operations would begin in December, however, delays related to the ongoing pandemic have kept that from happening.
“Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this entire construction process was delayed, but we are certain that by mid-February we could have the C5 operational,” he said.
