Pair stopped for urinating in public arrested after assaulting Cancun officer

Cancun, Q.R. — Two males were arrested Tuesday after assaulting a female Cancun police officer. Benito Juárez Police arrested 37-year-old Gustavo “N” and his 26-year-old companion Ricardo “N” on charges of injuries to a policewoman.

The arrests were made after patrolling officers in SM 22 noticed two individuals physically assaulting a fellow officer. The unidentified female officer said moments before, she stopped the men after seeing them urinating in public.

When she explained that urinating on a public road was an administrative offence, they became aggressive, first verbally assaulting her before one of the men grabbed her cell phone and threw it to the ground.

The men, who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol, were seen assaulting the female officer by other officers passing in a patrol unit. The unit stopped and assisted her in arresting the two men.
