Cancun, Q.R. — More than a dozen new bus stops are being added to Cancun routes with the modernization of the city system. The new stops are being added along Kabah Avenue in the area of the Cancun Hotel Zone.
Lourdes Vanessa Valenzuela Morales, the General Directorate of Transportation and Roads of the Municipality of Benito Juárez, says a total of 15 new bus stops in a first stage will be added.
“Fifteen bus stops will be installed in this first stage for users of the public transportation service so that they can board correctly. The new stops are being added after the presentation of the new buses that are serving the Kabah Avenue route to the hotel zone,” she explained.
The new stops will consist of a small metal covered shelter with a seating area for people to wait. Personnel from the General Directorate of Transportation and Roads are verifying points where the installation of new bus stops are required.
Construction for the new public stops along Kabah Avenue has already begun and should be finished in a few weeks. Construction of these new bus stops is a joint effort between the city and the bus concessionaire company.
