Riviera Maya, Q.R. — More than 100 cruise ships have docked in Quintana Roo in the first two weeks of the New Year. Between the passenger terminals of Mahahual and Cozumel, 106 cruise ships have docked during the first 15 days of January.
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa says these figures confirm the tourism leadership of the state.
Lezama said in the first fifteen days of the New Year, 106 cruise ships have been received. Of those, 75 in Cozumel and 31 in Mahahual, which, she added, sets 2024 as an excellent year for this type of tourism.
She reported that cruise ship passengers to the state enjoy the natural wealth, historical and cultural attractions of Mahahual and Cozumel, the same types of attractions offered in all 12 of Quintana Roo’s destinations.
“Last year alone, the state registered more than 5 million cruise passengers who arrived in around 1,500 ships, both at the docks of Cozumel and in Mahahual in the north and south of the state,” she added.
