One Cancun driver killed in two vehicle crash

Cancun, Q.R. — One dead and two vehicles destroyed was the result of a Cancun roadway accident early Wednesday. Cancun emergency services arrived at the accident site where they found the deceased driver of a car.

The two vehicle accident was reported Wednesday morning near the new airport overpass bridge at the city’s entrance.

Transit, firemen and paramedics attended to the two vehicle crash site where medical personnel confirmed the death of the one of the drivers. A van and car were involved in the deadly crash.

Traffic was backed up for hours affecting vehicles in both directions trying to access the Cancun airport and the Cancun Hotel Zone. According to early information, the car involved skidded left where it hit the central median then a pole before crossing over into oncoming traffic.

A van was hit by the out-of-control car. The van was tossed from the road and down a small embankment where it came to a rest. Two people from inside the van were transferred to hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate the official cause of the crash, however, speed has been factored into the reason for the driver of the car loosing control.
