Cancun, Q.R. — The occupant of a Cancun apartment suffered extensive injuries after being blown through a second story window onto the pavement below. A gas buildup in a Cancun apartment Saturday night sent the man to hospital.

The male occupant of the home was transferred by ambulance after suffering extensive burns to various parts of his torso due to the explosion. Firemen were called to the home on Págalo Avenue in the Vista Real subdivision around 8:00 p.m. Damage was severe, having blown out the apartment’s windows.

The man, reported to be in his 40s, suffered second and third degree burns. He was also treated for other injuries after being thrown out of the front patio window of his second story apartment during the blast.
