Noises from trunk lead to discovery of abducted woman

Cancun, Q.R. — Attempts at cries for help lead police to the discovery of a woman stuffed into the trunk of a car. The woman was heard by passersby who alerted local authorizes.

Police found the woman, reported to be in her late 30s and from Nicaragua, stuffed in the trunk of a car after being abducted earlier that same day. The woman was found Sunday evening around 8:30 when the car was parked in a busy central city parking lot.

According to the woman, who was found bound and gagged, she was in there more than 10 hours. The person who made the discovery said they heard noises coming from the inside of the trunk while walking to their car. They approached to hear it was a woman inside.

Responding police requested help from Cancun firemen in opening the trunk of the car they found located along Tulum Avenue. Paramedics arrived and transferred the locked up woman to hospital under Municipal Police guard.
