Cancun, Q.R. — Nine women were rescued from four buildings in Cancun Tuesday after an anonymous complaint of forced prostitution. On Thursday, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that the nine women were rescued by agents after a search of four buildings in SM 66.
The rescue was made during an operation with participation of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and FGE agents from the Immediate Reaction and Support Force Group.
All nine women were of Mexican nationality and between the ages of 22 and 29. The Attorney General says all nine remain in their protection. The buildings where the women were found have been seized by authorities.
