Cancun, Q.R. — A newspaper delivery man lost his life when he was run over by a vehicle that fled the scene. The man was hit by the vehicle early Sunday morning while traveling on his tricycle in SM 220 of Cancun.
In a report from the traffic department, it is said that the accident occurred at 05:35 hours at the height of SM 220 when 61-year-old José del Carmen was hit and thrown several meters off his bike.
Police detailed that he distributed newspapers on a tricycle and was run over and killed while traveling on Chac Mool Avenue during the dark morning hours of Sunday.
Authorities said that as he passed 70th Street, he was hit by a vehicle, and unfortunately, there were no witnesses to the accident. Paramedics did arrive, however, he was already deceased.
