New 881 home real estate project approved for Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A new set of luxury homes has been approved by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources for northwest Playa del Carmen.

The approval was granted to company La Ceiba DCM SA de CV to build 881 homes for an investment of over 1.5 billion peso in the northwest part of the city. The new luxury homes will be constructed in the area of El Jesusito at the Mayakoba project.

During its construction, the Environmental Impact Statement says the company will hire just over 1,000 people to build the new units. The company has five years to complete the building project, which is set for construction over 11.9 hectares, 6.8 of which will be used to build the homes.

It is reported to be the largest environmental impact project approved by La Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (Semarnat) for Riviera Maya this year.
