Nayarit Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación members arrested in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — The State Attorney General Oscar Montes de Oca, said that authorities have arrested several members of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación in Cancun, who he adds, are second-level commanders with the cartel gang.

El Fiscal General del Estado Oscar Montes de Oca said those arrested are presumed responsible for homicides, executions, extortions and other crimes in recent weeks as part of their drug distribution disputes.

He reported the detainees as Alondra Rodríguez Ávila, Oscar Gabriel Torres Martínez, Sergio Alfredo Becerra Cruz and 17-year-old Jennifer Paola Rodríguez Ávila, all of whom are from Tepic, Nayarit.

He says their arrests took place while state police were on surveillance tours in SM 259 and SM 512 of Cancun. The group were taken into custody after being found with numerous bags of various drugs and several weapons.

In total, police seized nearly 250 kilos of drugs along with their cell phones and weapon ammunition.
