National Guard seize semi delivering stolen fuel in Cancun substation

Cancun, Q.R. — National Guard personnel stopped a semi Monday after it reached a CFE substation in Cancun. The vehicle was followed and subsequently stopped due to suspicion of stolen fuel.

Authorities monitored the vehicle as it drover along Cancun’s Kabah Avenue Monday afternoon.

The driver and was stopped at his destination in SM 54 and arrested along with his passenger after being unable to legally prove where the fuel originated.

Authorities were alerted to the incoming delivery of fuel in an area where stolen petro had been discovered in August of this year.

National Guard requested the intervention of federal authorities since the theft of fuel is a federal offense.

Initial reports say several others from inside the CFE substation meeting place were also taken into custody.
