Cancun, Q.R. — A motorcyclist was killed Monday in the Cancun Hotel Zone after skidding his bike. Passing motorists reported the afternoon accident at kilometer 5.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard.
Agents from the Quintana Roo Police, along with paramedics, arrived at the site where police found skid marks and bike debris scattered along the road. They also located the dead body of the driver on the asphalt.
Accident witnesses had told police that the motorcyclist had been run over by a public transport truck, which then fled. However, during a review of city surveillance cameras, police watched as the motorcyclist skid at the same time as a truck passed by, maneuvering to avoid running over the body on the road.
