Cancun, Q.R. — Traffic was backed up for several hours Saturday morning after an accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The man died after skidding his bike.
Witnesses called emergency services around 8:00 a.m. Saturday to report the accident. Medical personnel arrived at the scene, however, it was only to confirm the death of the motorcyclist.
Attending police determined that the driver of the bike was speeding when he lost control. The bike crashed into a metal pole at kilometer six of the Cancun Hotel Zone. Both lanes were shut as officials worked the scene. Eventually one lane was opened to motorists to ease traffic.
