Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun motorcycle driver died this morning after a single vehicle accident in the hotel zone. Cancun Transit were at the site of the accident at Kilometer 8.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard in response to motorist reports.
The male driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle was found dead in the middle of the road Friday morning. The area was closed to traffic while police and emergency services cleared the scene.
The man, reported to be in his 20s, lost control and skidded along the pavement for several meters before becoming separated from his motorcycle. His body was found nearly half-a-block from where his motorcycle finally came to a rest.
Speed is being factored into the Friday morning accident.
