Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a motorcycle was killed on Lak’in Avenue Thursday after colliding with a bus. The accident happened in SM 259 just before 2:00 p.m.
Witnesses called emergency services requesting help for the man who had been hit by the bus. Responders found the motorcycle driver laying on the pavement in the middle of the road.
Elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) were the first to arrive. They secured the area with reflective cones to prevent other vehicles from driving over the seriously injured man.
However, when paramedics arrived, it was to confirm he had died. He was covered with a sheet while authorities waited for the medical examiner to arrive and remove the body.
The motorcyclist is reported to have suffered severe head trauma. The driver of the bus was arrested. Authorities did not provide information on how the fatal accident happened.
