Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Transit Officers responding to the Monday report of an accident found four vehicles involved. The accident involved one private truck, a motorcycle, city bus and city combi.
Paramedics were called to attend to the injured, one of whom, was the driver of the motorcycle. He was found laying on his back under the front end of the public passenger van (combi) and pronounced on scene.
The fatal accident happened at 2:48 p.m. on Nichupte Avenue. Motorists said that the bus and Route 44 combi driver were competing by racing when the combi hit the bus which caused him to hit the small truck and eventually the motorcycle.
The driver of the bike was dragged for several meters under the van before finally coming to a stop. City motorists called emergency services for help, however, paramedics pronounced the man dead.
