Cancun, Q.R. — The main suspect in the stabbing death of a 10 year old girl has been officially charged. On Tuesday, local authorities said Adriel “N” has been charged “for his alleged participation in acts possibly constituting the crime of aggravated femicide.”

The suspect is the boyfriend of the girl’s mother, who was away at work at the time of the incident. When she arrived home and found her daughter, she ran to a nearby hospital for help. A doctor escorted her back to her home where he confirmed the girl was dead. Police say Adriel “N”, the mother’s now-former boyfriend, has been charged with raping and stabbing her.
“The events that gave rise to this connection occurred on July 16 of this year, when the now accused, who had been the romantic partner of the victim’s mother, entered her home where he committed the crime of rape and subsequently injured her with a knife, which took her life.”
At the hearing, the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented evidence on the legal autopsy, field forensics, weapon framing and forensic chemistry that lead to the charge of aggravated femicide.

On July 16, Cancun police were sent to the home in SM 93. Inside the home, Municipal Police proceeded to arrest the stepfather after allegedly being found partially clothed near the dead girl’s body.
