Tulum, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that two properties located in the town of Chemuyil in the municipality of Tulum were secured from invaders.
The two plots of land are located in Region 001 of Chemuyil in the municipality of Tulum and were secured after being invaded by a group of squatters. Both sites, which are managed by la Agencia de Proyectos Estratégicos del Estado de Quintana Roo (AGEPRO), were seized after a complaint was received that a group of people had begun clearing and fencing the land.
When police arrived, they found that a group had cleared and fenced both properties and begun constructing makeshift palapas. The legal representative of AGEPRO has filed a formal complaint for the crime of dispossession.
In a joint operation, the FGE and the Quintana Roo Police removed the squatters and placed seals on the properties. It is the third time since March authorities have removed invaders from Tulum land.
