Cancun, Q.R. — Two minors and one adult were arrested Friday after an exchange of gunfire left a Cancun officer with a bullet graze. The officers were searching a building in SM 260 in follow-up to an ongoing investigation when the attack occurred.
The FGE confirmed in a statement the arrest of three people on Laurelillo Street in the Prado Norte subdivision where officers were carrying out a drug search operation. While there, they were surprised fired-upon.
During an exchange of gunfire, a female officer was wounded by a bullet graze in the leg. Officers requested backup who located and arrested those alleged responsible. Two youths under the legal age were taken into police custody along with one adult.
During the operation, Cancun police seized drugs packaged for retail sale and a firearm.
